Since 2004, I have been writing features for a range
of consumer magazines including Good Housekeeping, Coast, Triathlete’s World, Women’s Running, Body Fit, 220 Triathlon, Practical Parenting and Sportsister.

Triathlete’s World is a consumer magazine produced
by NatMag-Rodale publishers, London.

I write regularly for Triathlete’s World magazine, sister publication of Runner’s World. For this commission, I was asked to write an article arguing the case for strength
and conditioning training for triathletes. I met with experts in the field, conducted research and outlined
a strength workout.

Nicola, I just wanted to say thank you for sending in thorough, well laid-out, interesting copy. You make life very easy for us (and most contributors don’t). Your piece was great. If all the magazine’s writers had such
a good grasp of the subject matter and target audience, my job would be much easier!
Alison Hamlett, Editor, Triathlete’s World magazine

Nicola Joyce was invited to address the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) at their monthly Communications Forum in February.

Speaking as a freelance journalist, blogger and copywriter, Nicola spoke about how PRs, operators and marketeers can connect with journalists and make the most of the relationship. She gave advice on what makes a good press release, how to help journalists meet deadlines and explained the process behind a magazine commission.

As a journalist, Nicola Joyce specialises in sport and fitness. She writes for consumer magazines and also for the publications produced by some sports’ national governing bodies (NGBs) and other sport industry bodies.

She recently wrote for the International Olympic Committee’s “The Olympic Review” – the official publication of the Olympic movement. Previous industry magazine commissions include British Triathlon’s Tri News, British Swimming’s “Swimming Times” and trade magazine Sports Management.
